This Wednesday I'll enter into my 24th week of my 2nd pregnancy. These days, time seems to be zipping by. Yena has been having her crazy tantrums as of late. Thinking if they are due to the fact that she senses some changes are coming about...maybe she sees my belly growing and knows that this baby isn't "pretend" anymore but real.
We have our big Korea trip coming up in about 4 weeks and I'm trying to be proactive and plan everything ahead of time so I don't stress. I think flying with my almost 3 year old will be the most stressful for me...we booked a red eye flight hoping that she'll stay asleep for a good chunk, but I kinda wanna say, its highly doubtful considering she won't be in her nice big comfy bed where she rolls around all 4 corners. :( Either way, I'm excited for Yena to explore Korea and also to get to know her gpa and uncle. I hope they think she's as funny and quirky as we do. :)
It's amazing how I could forget all the minute details so easily about the first pregnancy, because I constantly find myself relying on Baby Center to tell me the little tidbits about my pregnancy. I think after I have the baby, it'll all come screaming back? hopefully? I just keep telling myself it won't be as daunting this time because I know what to expect. Hopefully, all the stuff that didn't work the first time for me, will work this time. No baby blues and more boob milk please Lord!
All in all, we have definitely entered the 2nd trimester! I'm happier, less sick, energetic, feel the urge to bake, cook and clean a lot...Guess I gotta live it up before the true discomfort starts. Only 4 more months to go! woohoo!

Its a girl!
Thank you God for another Baby Girl Beck! We can't wait to meet our new female addition to the family. This past week, we realized what a true blessing it is to have a healthy baby. I think we may have taken it for granted with Yena because everything was always stellar with the checkups, but the miracle of life is exactly that...a miracle!
I went in for my 20 week check up so I could find out the sex and also do the halfway there Ultrasound on Thursday. I truly do love my new OB. She is outstanding! Soothing, great bedside manner and also is so hands on as a doctor. She did my scan herself vs. my old doctor's office had their tech do it. I just love her. Anyways...as she began to scan, she started with the heart and noticed a "bright spot" on the heart. She told me that this is a "soft marker" for Downs Syndrome. Obviously, the only word I picked up on was Downs and the rest went flying out the window. I don't think I enjoyed the rest of the UL She was really reassuring and told me lotsa positive things, but the worry wart in me started freaking out. I opted out of the 10 week genetic blood test because I thought I didn't have any real need for it and would take it when I had the need...well the need presented itself to me, so the results will be back in 2 weeks. Until then, I'm trying to stay relaxed and loose, not thinking about it too much. I figure it's really in God's hands what kinda baby he gives us. Any child he gives us is a gift and I don't want to start thinking the worst at this point when there's no need.
So there it is...we are super excited to have found out that the baby is a girl. We're going to remain prayerful and pray for a healthy baby girl. :) We are still very excited that Yena will have a little sister to boss around and not share her toys with. lol.
I just want to document through this blog to always remember to be thankful for all the blessings we have and to trust in Him to be the author of our lives. We are not yet home, but He will guide and take care of us until we do return to His side.

Hades...
Por que is it so hot in SoCal? I refuse to go outside except for provisions. I feel like it's the end of the world hot right now. Like literally, we will melt away as the zombies come strolling up my sidewalk. I guess I have to add in a battery operated fan/ac unit in my Doomsday Prepper Pack. (say that 5x fast)
It seems like it should be a perfect day to go to the pool with Yena, but I think I'll save that for Daddy and baby days. Speaking of pool days, I'm so jealous of my daughter who is able to perfectly tan like her papa. I gave up trying to be tan a long time ago, but every now and again, I use some selfless tanner and pretend that I'm capable of skin damage. I could tell that Yena is going to have that perfect golden skin during the summers. Hopefully, her skin won't morph with age and become ghostly pale like mine. :(
Baby #2 is growing and is 14 weeks old. Time is creeping this time around. I remember last time with Yena, the 1st trimester went by the slowest. But still...I'm slowly starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
We took Yena to Disneyland on Monday in 90+ degree weather, and it was so much fun to see her get excited over her reunion with Disney. We were blocked out since June, so she's been deprived for awhile now. She was jumping up and down and shaking her head like she was possessed but it was so fun to see her excitement. I love her when she is dancing and singing in English. The other day she was watching Tangled and was imitating all the movements and songs and the part where Rapunzel uses her hair to swing it like a rope to open the rafters above, Yena thought her ponytail was long enough to emulate the move and tried to swing it somewhere...maybe you had to be there, but it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen her do and just makes me sad that my baby is growing up so fast. I can't believe I'm able to argue with her...with words!
Sorry for not having pictures to show but I'm at the lazy stage still and refuse to unnecessarily move. Hopefully that will change in my second tri. Happy almost end of summer. Stay cool!

Almost outta the 1st Tri
Argh! These past few weeks could not drag by any longer. It seems like the MS is worse at night as opposed to last time with YN, it was bad in the morning. Still can't eat fruit, not even dried fruit and anything with too much acid in it. Chocolate is a no no and heart burn is starting to come on strong. Woe is me! Seriously...I am ridiculously jealous of those ladies out there that are on that show "I Didn't Know I was Pregnant." I mean to go through all 9 months happy and feeling no effects of nausea, heartburn, Sciatica...NOT FAIR!
Yena is excited to welcome a new sibling. She keeps telling us what clothes she's going to give to the baby and what diapers she's going to put on the baby. I have a feeling that she and I will be fighting each other on who gets to dress the baby and change the diaper. Her clingy stage is slowly starting to dissipate and she's a little angel. (prob just majorly jinxed myself) She has been helpful and sleeping well again through the night uninterrupted, so I'm pretty happy with her. :) Not quite at that "I feel sorry for my firstborn" stage yet, but I imagine, we will spoil the daylights out of her once we are further along.
Nothing really noteworthy to mention except that it's going to blazing hot this week. California needs to stop it with this weather (I know that it's summer time), especially when I don't have a husband at home who can take my child to the pool! Argh! I guess I should count my lucky stars that this is the beginning of my pregnancy and not the end when the heat will make it more unbearable... Stay cool folks!

Hi Jung!
Most likely the only friend who reads and knows that this blog is functional once again is my dear friend Jung. So guess what Jung? I have some news to share with you...my eggo is 9 weeks preggo! hahahaha. Surprised? If anyone else stumbles upon this post and reads this, I'm sharing with you suckers too. :) Anyhoo...I am indeed pregnant with Yena's little sib and am having the worst morning sickness of my life. I really truly hate this part. No amount of my mental preparation of repeating that "This pregnancy will be different," worked. I'm floored all day err day... :(
Thank God for Kim Kardashian and her Instagram (the ONE AND ONLY time I will positively talk about her) for being greedy for endorsements because I am on the drug Diclegis and it worked wonders for me in the beginning. I was able to eat fruit again and all sortsa stuff that would usually make me sick, but unfortunately the efficacy of the drug is starting to wear off. Wondering if I should up the dosage or just suck it up and be a strong mom. :/
That's my little tidbit that I wanted to share with you today cyberspace and Jung. Hope you feel a little better knowing that I share in your pain of being miserable. Just laugh and think that you have it better since I can't curl up in a ball all day, but I have to run after a crazy 2 year old. Yak!~

Long time no write...
Hello WWW,
Its been awhile since my last post. I'm being encouraged to write on you again by my friend Jungabungamuhahaha (forever in my head that will be her name) who is blogging about her new adventures in pregnancy.
Yena is now currently 30 months old and is a walking terrorizer. She loves to get into all sorts of trouble and I love her most when she is asleep. True story. Except that nowadays she loves to wake up at 2AM to "play" and parties all night until about 6AM and then doesn't want to be woken up to go to school. I am very much looking forward to my mom's getaway to Palm Springs this weekend...
The Parkwest Girls and I are going on our annual PS getaway. Bangles is knocked up again and so we have much to celebrate. We're staying at the Parker, so we should feel very hipster-ish I imagine. Gotta bust out my plaid and red lipstick..I'm just happy to get away to do some shopping, girl gab, have some good food and most importantly, the midnight munchies of cup ramen :). It's going to be blazing hot so planning on sipping on some cocktails poolside. :)
OK, gotta remember today to love Yena and be patient even though she drives me up the wall. It's just a phase and I will look back and miss the days where she cried every waking minute. ARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!
Her fave na-nah that I had to cut because she was misbehaving so bad. She looks so peaceful here :)
Her uniform: Buzz Lightyear Tshirt, PJ bottoms, sunglasses upside down, bandaids and a necklace.

Month 2, week 1!
Today, Avery/Yena is 9 weeks. Wow! Time is flying by so fast. I remember at week 2-4, I was so eager for her to reach 3 months, and I can't believe it's only 3 short weeks away. This is the 2nd week of her sleep training. She's been doing so great! I'm proud of my little baby. I'm loving that I have her on somewhat of a routine. Its so comforting, to know what to expect next. Somewhat... lol. Of course Ave is not a robot, but its nice to know what should be coming on...for those of you who know me, you know that I'm an incessant Excel spreadsheet planner. I don't like not knowing the unknown and thats what leads me to plan and plan, but Baby Wise helps me feel better about Avery's "unknowns".
Tomorrow, is her 2 month Pediatrician visit. I am TERRIFIED since I'll be going by myself. Last time at her month visit, she had her Hep B shot and it was the most awful thing to witness. I think now that I know her better and like her more :), it'll be harder to watch her get 4 shots. arghhh!!! I'll have to take a shot of something myself just to get through the experience. Wish me luck!
This weekend is going to be so beautiful...everyone enjoy it with your loved ones!
